Spring Break 2012

On February 29th I flew from RDU back home!
I spent the entire flight studying for an online exam that I had to do later in the day for my diabetes education course.
The good news: it went by fast!

This was the first time that I had a great view of the Dallas skyline.

My parents picked me up from the airport and we drove straight to Babe's Chicken.
We barely made it in time for the 2 pm cutoff.

By that evening, Alley had snuggled into her spot in my suitcase.

I completed my online exam in time to go to dinner with Katie.
We chose Joe T. Garcia's because it was such a beautiful night.

There were 2 cats roaming around, so I fed them some leftover chips and cheese.
I couldn't resist those little faces.

The next day, March 1st, we took the pups for a walk. I got my quarterly picture taken with Penny Lane.
Eb jumped in the pic too.

Penny tried to pull me in the lake.

I had a haircut that afternoon and it was fully needed.

I went for an evening run once I returned home.
The sunset was beautiful.

On Friday, March 2nd, we ventured to Lake Bardwell that is about an hour away from home.

We spent the afternoon fishing.

We didn't catch anything, but we had a grand old time.
We ate a Bubba's Barbecue in Ennis, TX.

Saturday, March 3rd, we invited my grandmother over for lunch. We had burgers and roasted potatoes.

Sunday, March 4th, we ventured over to Coppell, TX for my cousin's daughter, Sloan's, birthday!
She turned 2 on the 3rd.

She dug into her pink cupcake and then smeared it all over her face AND continued to smear it into her hair.

Before the party, I went for a run in the sun.

The majority of my break in Arlington was spent sun bathing, walking the dogs, and watching movies/TV.

On Tuesday evening, the 6th, I drove south to Houston.
I spent the rest of the week there enjoying my time with Lance.
This was the last time I get to see him until I move to Houston (unless I see him during my layover on April 7th on my way back from Honduras).

we enjoyed froyo

my fortune from our Chinese Takeout dinner

Lance always talks about the fancy Luby's he goes to in midtown that all the business people eat at. He took me during the class break on Thursday.

I loved the view on the 13th floor.

He had a huge gap in his class schedule because his middle class was cancelled.
He and I both got a lot of schoolwork done.

That night, it was two of his law school buddies' birthday celebration at Celtic Gardens (local bar).

We had a great time...they had a little too much fun.

I drove back to Arlington on Saturday, March 10th.

I made it back to Arlington just in time to have dinner with my parents at Sake Hibachi.

By the time I got to bed plus the time change, I had to be back up 30 minutes later.
Having a 6:30 AM flight the morning of a time change was horrible.

Ally didn't want to be disturbed.

Penny watched me pack up.

I left home without knowing when exactly I'll be back; this is a first.

I slept the whole plane ride back to Durham.

Stesha picked me up and we went to breakfast at Elmo's diner.
This was my first experience. We waited 20 minutes to be seated and the food was okay.

I came home and crashed from 12:30 to 6:30 pm.
